Arte Sacra

RELIGIOUS ART

For Mircea Eliade religion and artistic expression are simply archetypal "experiences" common to man throughout history. A religious man is also a creative man insofar as he "encounters" himself somewhere between the invisible and the visible.

Lavori in stile

PERIOD STYLE PIECES

The Passaro brothers' artistic output has its roots in the great Renaissance tradition and draws inspiration and influence from the shapes and stylistic features characteristic of art history. As such, it engages with the art history and with the great masters of the past.

Pezzi Unici

STATEMENT PIECES

The statement pieces are created using a personal style developed through research and experience and with a focus on reviving traditional methods to create high-quality handmade pieces. A harmonious union of ostensibly contrasting styles.

Oggettistica

GIFT PIECES

Oftentimes we develop attachments to common objects, which carry emotional significance and memories that form part of our life experience. Though they are simple, a combination of knowledge, proportion, technical skill and geometry render these pieces animate objects.

Credenza

FLOUR CHEST

Created using sessile oak, the piece is defined by its clean, almost austere lines despite the influence of Art Nouveau (or Arte Floreale as it was referred to in Italy) with its distinctive predilection for organic forms, ornamentation and decoration with a focus on flower and plant motifs and curved lines, visible here in the four panels.

Ambone

LECTERN

The surface of the lectern is supported by two side tables, intended to represent the tables of the Law. A lower surface features an evergreen oak which recalls the legend according to which Saint Francis, upon reaching Montella in the Folloni woods (where he would later found a convent), took refuge under an evergreen oak when night fell.
